So you want to see what some of your classmate looked like while in high school and how they look now? Well, this is the page that will answer that question. Following are the photos, some accompanied by a brief biography.

If you are a class of 1952 classmate and your pictures and bio do not appear, email me (at the address below) or snail mail the information to John Mason, 720 Teague Rd., Marshall, NC 28753.

At the bottom of this page are numerous links to other pages of photos.

John and Janet (Webb) Mason married January 16, 1954. Janet graduated from Mt. Vernon in 1953 and was the MTVHS Drum Majorette her senior year. They have 3 daughters, 2 grandsons, and 1 granddaughter. John retired in 1986.

Greetings from sunny Florida where I have been living since high school with a year or so in North Dakota and Nebraska. Since Bob and I were married on June 16, 1956, we have done a bit of traveling to Washington, California, Jamaica, Bahamas, St. Thomas, Haiti, Europe, China, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Japan, and Singapore. We have three handsome sons, who are all in sales, mortgage brokers and Salad Master Sales, and two adorable, intelligent grandchildren, who are so wonderful, we should have had them first! What turns me on these days? I enjoy traveling and being a travel agent, specializing in groups. Computers and the net have been wonderful means of getting in touch with friends from my past. I also enjoy theatre and hope to get into some form of drama when I have more time, a carryover from the roles I played at CTHS and JC. As season ticket holder for the Orlando Magic, it was so exciting to cheer for Troy Hudson, who graduated from SIU, also. Actually, I am addicted to sushi and basketball! I am excitedly looking forward to seeing all of you and renewing friendships. See you soon!!!

Jane Wernsing Balzer -
Don't know if you are interested but Ben, my husband and I are retired here in Oregon and have lived here eleven years in October. We love it here in one of the most scenic areas of the country (in our opinion.) We live about a mile from our sandy beaches and the Pacific Ocean. Ben and I met and married in St. Louis, Missouri in 1959 where we resided for several years before transferring to Arizona in 1962. We then lived in the San Francisco Bay area for nine years. We later moved back to Arizona for over eight years and our final move before retirement was to Oregon where he worked until his retirement. We have one grown daughter who is married and lives in New Hampshire, one grown granddaughter in Nevada, one ten year old grandson and three step-grandsons. I have renewed my interest in art and have been watercolor painting for a number of years and last November was accepted in the Watercolor Society of Oregon. I have some of my paintings along with my painting pals on display at our local Events Center for the month of September.
Maury Garnholz, California -- BS in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, University of Illinois, 1956. After holding several positions in the Aeronautical field, I tried one semester as a high school mathematics teacher and realized I could deal better with the gang members than the spoiled brats who were resisting learning. However, I still privately tutor AP calculus and physics and SAT preparation. Earlier, I also dabbled in real estate syndication (some with Jerry Buss of the LA Lakers), education franchises, a fine wine & spirits store, and stock brokering. Some won, some lost. Now I am writing science fiction. I love it. And playing tennis and taking classical and jazz piano lessons. Oh, also I am into my third and final marriage. The good life has had a toll to pay. But now worth it. I have four wonderful children (of course), 3 in computers and one in California beach real estate. And one granddaughter, 4, who at her request is taking lessons in piano, ballet, swimming, and tennis. So far, it's not a bad life. Look forward to seeing you and the class. (We are all the same age! Lucky we all have 50 more years to grow up.)

Richard E. (Dick) Buehler's biography is just too large to fit in this small space. I encourage you to visit his separate bio page, which, I am sure you will find very interesting.

Shortly after graduation from CTHS in 1952, my parents moved to Texas. I spent the summer in Houston and in the fall enrolled at Texas A & M University. On June 2, 1954, I married Joy Hugo, CTHS class of 1953, in Centralia. We have 3 children, Susan in Florida, Sheryl in Jacksonville, Florida and David in Texas. We also have 4 grandchildren. I retired in May 1992. We have traveled a lot with trips to places like China, Russia, Siberia, Bangkok, Singapore, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and extensively to Europe. Our favorite is Great Britain where we have driven around all parts of the island. I particularly enjoyed golf in Scotland a couple times. We have been spending about 5 months in Arizona in the winter where I play golf regularly. Recently I have been doing a little genealogy. Joy spends her time walking, reading and taking part in church activities.
